2-Day Private Buddha Path Trip to Leshan Giant Buddha and Mt Emei from Chengdu

Itinerary

Day 1: Chengdu-Leshan Giant Buddha Statue-Mt EMei

Stop At: Leshan Giant Buddha (Da Fo), No.2435 Lingyun Street, Shizhong District, Leshan 614000 China
On the first day we will meet you in the hotel and accompany you to Leshan Giant Buddha. En route to Leshan , we will stop to walk in a tea plantation for 30-40 minutes. On arrival, we will firstly take a boat trip to see the panoramic view of Leshan Buddha Statue , which is about 30 minutes; And then it is lunchtime, We will have a lunch nearby the pier.

After lunch, we will go to the bottom of the hill, starts to walk up to see the Buddha Statue from the top of the hill. It is about 2-3 hours’ walk this afternoon; we will follow the stone steps up to the top of Lingyun Hill ,we will be able to see three rivers confluence in front of Giant Buddha, and the head of the Buddha Statue comes into our view.

After taking a couple of pictures from the top, then we descend along the red sand cliff to view the phenomenal Leshan Giant Buddha from his feet. Later we will go back to the head of the Buddha Statue again by following a tunnel track carved on the cliff. We keep walking along the river track, passing by a fishing village, and arrive in the cliff tomb area where you can see the custom of cliff burial started 1,800 years ago.

Later we will cross a rainbow bridge, which is the back gate of Leshan Giant Buddha Statue, and climb up to the top of the hill, where there is a very peaceful temple, and you will enjoy a overlook view of the river before descending.

Late in the afternoon, we need drive another 1 hour to Mt Emei, check in Holiday Inn Express or similar.

In the evening if you have any interest, you can go to the temple and watch the monks’ evening class, even you can join them and immerse yourself into the meditation.

Day 2: Mt Emei-Chengdu

Stop At: Mount Emei (Emeishan), Emeishan 614201 China
On the second day, we will start a very early departure to ascend to the Golden Summit of Mt. Emei by bus and cable car. Once we get to the Golden Summit of Mt Emei, a huge golden Buddha Statue appears in front of us, shinning in the sunlight. It is so high at the top, which is about 3099m, we will feel strong wind. But the views are amazing if we are lucky enough, we will see the clouds ocean and snow mountains .

After enjoy the panoramic view of Mt. Emei on the top , we will descend to Wanniansi area, from where we will have 2-3 hours walking in the forest this afternoon; We will first take a cable car up to Wanniansi Temple and visit the Buddha temple and start our walk for about an hour to Qingyin Pavilion, the most beautiful landscape of Mount Emei. From Qingying Pavilion down to Wuxiangang, we will follow the stream down, passing by local villages and a man-made lake. On arrival Wuxiangang ,we change the shuttle bus down to the bottom and take our private car back to Chengdu, the end of trip.
