Bhatapur Durbar : Square
This Durbar Square was seat of Malla King and its present structure were built in about 12 century to 18th century AD. There are many monuments, Temples and Buddhist Monasteries in Bhaktapur Durbar Square including Lion Gate, two lions on the gate represents of power and protection elements. This gate has beautiful stone statues Durga and Bhairav, Four Pilgrims shrines of Jagananth, Kedarnanth, Rameshwor and Badrinanth, statues of King Bhupendra Malla on stone column in a praying posture to Taleju Bhawani, Golden Gate, an entrance to main courtyard, 55 window Palace, an examples of wood carving built in 17th century by King Bhupendra Malla, Bastala Temple, it was built on Shikhar styles completely on stones, temple has a small bell known as barking bell because dogs bark and whine at the sound of the bell and Yakcheswor Mahadev Temple, it was built by King Yakshya Malla in 15 the century as a copy of Pasupatinanth Temple of Kathmandu.
Nyata Pola Square:
This Temple is the most popular Pagodas styles Temples in Valley. It was built by King Bhupendra Malla in 17th century. Nyata Pola in Newari means five tiered temple symbolizing the five basic elements of Nature. The Temple is dedicated to Goddess Siddhi Laxmi, a Tantric Goddess. This Temple built by King Bhupendra Malla on advice of the astrologers to pacify God Bhairav and maintain a harmonious balance of male and female force. This Temple was built by King Yakshya Malla in 1427 AD. This Temple is dedicated to God Dattareya, the combined incarnation of the three supreme Gods –Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. Bimshen Temple was built in 16th century; normally people visited the Temple for the best trip when they walk from Kathmandu to Tibet or India and after returned back. Pujari Math, it was built by King Yaksha Mallla in the 15th century and eastern face of the Math has a famous peacock window
