Akumal & Cenotes 2 dives

Akumal has something for everyone. There are over a dozen dive sites to choose from with varying levels of difficulty. Like many of the other areas on the Yucatan Peninsula, the current here is usually strong and heading north. This allows us to complete very relaxing drift dives as we let the current move us along without much kicking effort. There is plenty of marine life to see while diving in Akumal. The reef here is on the edge of the Cantil, the trench that separates Cozumel from the mainland. This deep crack is home to many of the large pelagic animals. It is common to see a shark swim past when diving on the deeper sections of the reef. Akumals biggest attraction is the amount of turtles that come into the bay to lay eggs. There are always a few playing along the reef and many more within the bay. Be sure to go in for a quick snorkel before or after your dives.
