Back to Communism Walking Tour

At the beginning of this walking tour you will be given a comprehensive introduction into history and theory of socialism / communism. You will learn about its rise in the 19th century and how it has spread to Central / Eastern Europe. 

Then, within approximately 2 hours, this tour is going to take you to the most important places related to history of communism in Prague which always has been a capital city of former Czechoslovakia, nowadays Czech republic.

You will see former secret communist police headquarters, former Stalin statue spot, current and former seat of the Communist party, places of protests, demonstrations, rebellions, revolutions and Soviet occupation. Some areas breath with depressingness till present days, actually...

Besides lecturing on the most important personalities, dates and milestones of the communist history, the cold-war-survivers (local guides) will describe you to details how the common life was looking like during that era. You will learn about all the advantages as well as disadvantages, both pros and cons.
